GTO Swap Candidate: Engineless 2001 Holden Commodore Ute in California
This 2001 Holden Commodore ute is offered without an engine or gearbox, both of which were pulled prior to the car/truck being exported from its native Australia. Condition looks well-used but decent and certainly improvable, and the seller claims no accident history. With four-wheel discs and a capable, four-wheel independently suspended platform, the seller suggest it’d make a good home for a modern Pontiac GTO LS and 6-speed combo. 4×4 Diesel Camper: 1991 Toyota TownAce European
This 1991 Toyota TownAce is a 4×4, 5-speed, diesel powered van with what the seller describes as a factory fiberglass camper shell. Further said to have been a single-family vehicle prior to importation, the seller claims it’s well-maintained with 66k miles. Condition looks quite decent inside and out, and the ad says it will seat seven and comfortably sleep up to five adults. Find it here on Craigslist in Burlington, Vermont for $17k. Koenig Widebody: 1990 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 500SL has been modified by Koenig, with work including fitment of the company’s signature widebody components. Changes seem to have been largely cosmetic, and work is presumed to have been completed in-period. The seller doesn’t offer a lot of hard info on the car’s condition, but it appears to be good despite some chipping on the low nose. Tech-Heavy V8 Luxury: 1989 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon G
This 1989 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon G (VIN UZS131006543) is a RHD model recently imported from Japan, and the seller says that the car has received some mechanical attention, including an oil change and A/C conversion to R134a, all performed by a Toyota master tech. Its 4.0 liter V8 (as found in contemporary Lexus LS models) is said to be strong running and reliable, and the car is full of interesting home market features like an early CD-ROM based satnav/TV system–in true Toyota style, it reportedly remains in working condition. The ad features numerous good quality photos, and shows the car to be very well looked-after. Find it here on eBay in Jacksonville, Florida with reserve not met.
