Big Price Drop Update: 1937 Cord 812 Beverly Supercharged Project
12/18/2016 Update: Little more than a month later, and the seller of this 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged project has dropped their price by 10 grand, or 25% percent of the former ask. Said to be original and complete (excluding the blower), it will obviously need quite a bit of time and money spent in order to restore its former glory, but even in standard, non-supercharged form, these are beautiful cars with lots of fascinating and advanced engineering, not to mention one of the greatest dashboards of all-time. Sale includes a few free bullet holes, and the seller claims to know the whereabouts of a correct supercharger. Find it here on Craigslist near Denver, Colorado for $29,950.
43K-Mile V12 Flagship: 1990 BMW 750iL
This 1990 BMW 750iL (VIN WBAGC8316LDC77998) is a long wheelbase V12 flagship sedan with a claimed 43k miles and one previous owner. The car looks very nice throughout, and sale includes a stamped service book and other maintenance records. Running twelve-cylinder E32’s aren’t too difficult to find at half or even a third of the asking price for this example, but those types of tired, high-mileage cars are likely to need several times the initial purchase cost in deferred maintenance. The seller doesn’t go too deep into this one’s mechanical condition, but what is known certainly paints a promising picture. Find it here on Craigslist in Burbank, California for $9k.
Last of the Dinosaurs: 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz w/ No Reserve
This 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz (chassis 6L47S8Q263222) is described as a special edition commemorative of the seventh generation’s final year, though it lacks any identifying marks beyond standard badges. Regardless, the car appears to be a well-preserved example and is said to run and drive very well with (mostly) functional accessories, including A/C. It looks great too, with shiny paint, nice trim, and a clean interior. Find it here on eBay in Evansville, Indiana with no reserve.
$75K Early Driver: 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
This 1950 Jaguar XK120 is said to have been restored about five or six years ago, with work including fitment of a new wiring harness, interior, top, and brake system overhaul. It’s been sitting since, but recently started after about 20 seconds of cranking. The seller admits it coughed a bit when given some throttle, but adds that oil pressure looks good. Cosmetics are far from rough, but are certainly more driver than show quality. Reads the ad: “Simply a good, solid and straight XK120 roadster with plenty of nickel and dime issues that someone with minimal skills can easily sort out.” Find it here on Craigslist near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for $75k.
