Bizarre Beemer: Citroen 2CV-Based Custom Motorcycle

i

This custom bike was built in 2013 and is heavily based around parts pulled off an old Citroen 2CV, including its air-cooled boxer twin, fenders and more. The seller says they’ve added 10k kilometers since completion, and though not the prettiest looking car-engined custom out there, it’s certainly pretty interesting. Find it here on eBay in Slovenska Bistrica, Slovenia with an $11k USD BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader Philip K. for this submission.

Incredible Restoration: 1963 Chevrolet K20 283/4×4

k

This 1963 Chevrolet K20 4×4 has been restored to what’s described as–and what appears to be–virtually factory-fresh condition throughout, the seller claiming exclusive use of original, rebuilt, or NOS parts. Attention to detail is remarkable throughout, and both its original 283ci V8 and 4-speed transmission have been rebuilt. Even if it was a cosmetically tired runner, spec would make this a very desirable old rig, but what’s being offered here seems about as close you can get to a showroom condition 53 year-old pick-up. Find it here on eBay in Santa Monica, California for $68k OBO.

$8K 440-Swapped Hurst/Roadrunner Style Build: 1971 Plymouth Satellite

g

This 1971 Plymouth Satellite wagon has had its original slant-six or 318ci V8 swapped for a 440 big-block, and with a cool gold and white Hurst-style paint scheme, Rallye wheels, and displacement callout lettering on the hood, we like to think of it as a kind of Roadrunner-inspired tribute build. Find it here on Craigslist in Auburn, New York for $8k. Special thanks to BaT reader Tom J. for this submission.

BaT Auction Success Story: Honda N600 Winter Drive from LA to Seattle

n600-2

The buyer of the 1970 Honda N600 purchased via BaT Auctions this past Novemeber (link) just reached out to update us on the transaction, as well as the adventure home.

I bought a Honda N600 via BAT a few weeks back. The little 32 HP Honda was in LA, and I live north of Seattle, so I decided to drive it home, even though it’s winter. The seller was very helpful in getting new tires mounted, picking me up at the airport, and even setting me up with some supplies for the trip back, should things to astray. Great guy.

Anyway, here’s the report, thought you might be interested…

I've always had a weak spot for the Honda N600 microcar. I was in the service at the time they were new, and wanted to buy one, but couldn't quite muster the $1,400 that it took. But, many years later, and with a few more bucks in my pocket, I saw one come up on Bring a Trailer. I bid and won the auction for a price lower than I was anticipating.

Unfortunately, I live north of Seattle, and the Honda was located in Los Angeles, and I needed to get it home. I decided that I'd give it a go to drive it home, even though it's winter, and many miles away. I discussed this with the seller, and he figured it would probably make it, but suggested that I get new tires since the old ones, while having good tread, were old and weather-checked. I asked him if the heater worked, but since he was in warm LA, he hadn’t used it. He volunteered to have tires installed if I could find some replacements. Turns out that these are 10" tires, same as on the original Mini, but very hard to find in the States. I found some at a classic Mini supplier, imported from England, and had them shipped to the seller.

I bought my plane ticket, and the seller agreed to meet me at the airport. When I showed up, the tires were mounted, and to help in the case of a problem, he presented me with a gift of some metric wrenches, flares, tire-patch kit and some extra oil. Very nice guy! He showed me some spare parts for the car in the trunk, including some trim and seals, seatbelts, etc., then gave me a brief orientation to the car. We mounted up the Washington license plate that I had brought along, and I fired it up, ready to head out of LA during a weekend.
