Factory Green 4-Speed: $3K 1979 Volvo 244 DL
This 1979 Volvo 244 DL is a 4-speed sedan in a rarely seen color that’s claimed to be the factory finish. Photos show what looks like a car in good condition, and the seller describes it as all original and well maintained, further saying “Anytime anything has needed to be fixed, it was.” The listing also contained a nice list of maintenance and other highlights, and over all this one sounds like a well-preserved driver with a lot to offer at this price. Find it here on Craigslist in Brookville, Indiana for $3k.
Plastic Beach Wagon: 1970 Citroen Mehari
This 1970 Citroen Mehari (chassis CA2025) is a nice looking example of the weird little plastic-bodied, 2CV-based pick-up/beach cruiser, sold complete with top, doors, and side curtains. The seller adds that it runs very well, and also claims low mileage despite not providing an exact figure. Find it here on Craigslist near Santa Barbara, California for $14k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader KLSL for this submission.
Limelight Big Block Tribute: 1970 Plymouth Barracuda w/ 440 & Shaker
This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda (chassis BH23G0E116072) left the Los Angeles plant with a 2bbl-fed 318, but now features a 440 and correct Shaker hood, and though not expressly stated, sounds like a driver. Its fender tag isn’t shown, but the car is also said to have originally worn Limelight Green. Essentially a ‘Cuda clone, this one is far from perfect, but it’s still a great looking machine with a 440/727 TorqueFlite combo–one of the best Mopar Muscle setups Chrysler ever offered, and the ask is in accordance with its needs and non-originality. Find it here on eBay in Sherman, Texas with a $26k BIN.
Inexpensive Driver: Lowered 1973 Datsun 620
This 1973 Datsun 620 (chassis JN1HZ06S1BX190180) has been lowered by about three inches, along with a few other custom touches, some of which are more successful than others. Regardless, the truck sounds to be a good driver, and anything not to the next owner’s taste should be easy to fix. At his price, it’s among the least expensive early 70’s Datsun pick-ups we’ve seen in a while, regardless of condition, and that alone should make it worth a look. Find it here on eBay in Priest River, Idaho with a $2,900 BIN.
