Articulated Amphibian: 1978 Volvo BM BV202
This 1978 Volvo BM BV202 is a low-mileage, former military vehicle that remains mostly stock aside from a color change. The ad’s translation is a bit rough, but it sounds like the rig has been checked over and is in good working condition, with just 5k and change claimed kilometers. These highly capable, amphibious all-terrain vehicles were used by several Northern European countries and even Canada for a few decades. With room enough for 10 people, or a bevy of off-grid expedition equipment, this would certainly be an interesting way of traveling the back country. Find it here on finn.no in Skotselv, Norway for 85k NOK (-$10k USD today).
Daily Driven for a Decade: 1979 Mercedes-Benz 508D Firetruck
This 1979 Mercedes 508D is a former firetruck imported by its seller and current owner from Germany 10 years ago. Mileage is quoted as 58k, there’s seating for nine, and the seller claims that it’s driven daily, netting 14-16 MPG around town and a bit more on the freeway. Photos show that just about all firefighting equipment is gone, but condition looks quite good throughout. The description mentions a PTO and drafting pump, though it’s not known if either remains operational. Find it here on Craigslist in Campbell, California for $18,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Peter M. for this submission.
Super Orange: Ex-Museum 1974 Volvo 142
This 1974 Volvo 142 (chassis 1426364400638) appears to be incredibly well-preserved, and the seller provides a nice walkaround video that shows the car running as good as it looks. Unfortunately very little additional information is provided, so we’re left to guess on pretty much everything including originality, maintenance history, accessory functionality and so on. Regardless, it’s easily one of the cooler old Bricks we’ve seen lately, thanks largely to a wild and very 70’s monochromatic orange color combination. Find it here on eBay with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Michael S. for this submission.
Mostly Original: 1966 Renault R16
This 1966 Renault R16 is described a largely original, retaining all of its factory fittings, roughly 80% of its original paint, and what look like very nice cosmetics throughout. Th seller says that it runs perfectly, adding that it’s ready to be driven anywhere without worry. They further claim no accident history, and that the car has never been driven in wintry conditions. New brakes, clutch, fluids, suspension components and other recent work is noted as well. Find it here on mobile.de in Budapest, Hungary for 6,900 euros (-$7,300 USD today).
