New Auction Listings
Drivable Automatic: 1984 Ferrari 400i Project
This 1984 Ferrari 400i looks a bit scruffy with dusty paint and some missing trim, but the seller claims that its Colombo V12 still has strong compression and that its TRX-spec wheels wear new Michelins. Further said to be a great running and driving car with ~10k miles and no rust, if needs are truly limited to replacing missing trim, it could be worth a closer look. Find it here on Craigslist in NYC for $27.500. Special thanks to BaT reader PGN for this submission.
Sharp Series One: 1969 Fiat 124 Sports Coupe
This 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe (chassis 124AC0100313) is a lovely looking Series 1 car that’s been resprayed in its factory correct color. The car wears its original black plates as well, and the interior has been restored to what looks like a good standard. The engine bay shows just as sharp, and the seller claims no rust or other issues. Find it here on Craigslist near San Diego, California for $14k OBO.
Never Registered & All Original: 1969 Volkswagen Type 147 Fridolin
This 1969 Volkswagen Type 147 Kleinlieferwagen or Fridolin is a rare Westfalia-built truck designed specifically for use by German and Swiss postal services. One of about 6,100 built over a ten year period ending in 1974, less than one percent are estimated to remain, and this example is probably among the most important and best preserved among them. Never registered or driven more than 10k kilometers, it initially served as an internal VW promotion vehicle, and then spent many years in Westfalia’s museum. Claimed to remain 100% original, condition looks essentially as-new throughout. Find it here on Oldbug in Wolfsburg, Germany for $95k USD. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Alfa Twin Cam Swapped: 1972 TVR Vixen
This 1972 TVR Vixen (chassis 2125T) has been with the seller’s family since it was only a few years old, and the car they describe sounds like a very good example. Apart from nicely kept cosmetics inside and out, what really caught our attention is the 2.0 liter Alfa Romeo twin cam that’s been fitted in place of the factory original Triumph six-cylinder. The seller says that the car is both lighter and more powerful as a result, with a revvier delivery and added forward gear from a matching 5-speed. Find it here on eBay in Los Angeles, California with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Leston C. for this submission.
